The Kaluma Report – Courchevel Edition

With snow tentatively dusting the mountain tops of the three valleys, the first week of the 2014-15 winter season is fully underway.

The Kaluma Travel team of Courchevel 1850 have once again brought to life the stunning chalets of Maisonnée A and Maisonnée B, and are geared up and ready for the busy season ahead.

The first guests to arrive this season have been soaking up the unusually warm weather, and have embraced an afternoon ritual of apres ski sunbathing on the front terrace, whilst enjoying the splendid view over the village of 1850.

Recent showers of powder do, however, promise that perfect ski conditions are ahead!

This season, guests will be treated to delicacies produced by Kaluma’s latest chalet feature. The Big Green Egg. It’s appearence, looking exactly as the name suggests, sits on both Maisionee A and B terraces, looking rather robust and elegant.

This week, chefs Dan and Chris christened the Big Green Egg with a tasty and creative menu, starting with roast scallops with jerusalem artichoke puree, iberico, crispy capers and sherry vinegar. Followed by the famous Green Egg loin of pork, with burnt apple puree and grain mustard mash. To top this all off, a baked and glazed raspberry cheesecake was presented to the delighted but very full guests.

Overall a very lively  and delicious start to the season here in Courchevel 1850, with no doubt, more surprises along the way soon!

A very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all.

The Kaluma Travel team.
