ST CHRISTOPH AM ARLBERG

Chic and sophisticated are two of the best words to describe this historically famous village. Home of the world famous Arlberg Ski Club and the Arlberg Brotherhood, whose “brothers” are spread the world over.

Steeped in tradition you can enjoy being amongst European Royalty and international dignitaries as St Christoph provides the perfect getaway for a peaceful, stress free holiday or a divine romantic break away from the crowds.

With the village literally right at the foot of the slopes, you ski right back to your hotel every time you reach the bottom of the delightfully ‘cruisey’ blue number 8 piste.

Relaxation and pampering form the après ski scene in this beautiful village. The Sport & Spa complex offers 2000 square meters of pure indulgence with treatments, massages and therapies designed to relax, rejuvenate and refresh your senses.

Skiing in St Christoph:

Part of the famous Arlberg Ski Region, St Christoph is tucked away in the heart of the Arlberg. Directly linked to the St Anton ski area and a short ski bus ride to Stuben and Zurs.

St Christoph is made up of an array of slopes that will cater for all levels of skier; beginner routes and intermediate pistes allow you to cruise the whole region sticking on blues and reds. To the south of the village, the extensive off piste allows experienced skiers with local guides to ski right back to the main street!

  • Endless off piste and powder fields
  • Highest point at 2,811m
  • Biggest vertical drop of 1,350m
  • Longest run is 8.5km
  • 86 lifts service the whole of the Arlberg ski region
  • Excellent snow park that hosts European events

Our top tips:

Take the time to visit the wine cellar in the Hospiz Hotel, where the owner can often be found giving personal tours and the cellar dates back over 600 years.

Don’t forget the wine cellar in the Hospiz Alm, the world’s biggest big bottled wine cellar. You will be for ever impressed! Allow your Kaluma guide to organise a guided tour and private talk by the sommelier.

Let us recommend a guide to take you on the off piste routes from Stuben to the back of the Hospiz Hotels. Stunning scenery and soft snow will help make this peaceful descent back to the village one to remember.

Dining in St Christoph:

You don’t come to St Christoph for the vibrant après ski or nightlife scene. You come to be pampered, to escape and enjoy the peacefulness of the surrounding mountains, to enjoy doorstep skiing and for relaxed evenings with a bottle of wine from the 600 yr old Hospiz wine cellar.

The Hospiz Hotel, our partner hotel in St Christoph offers a “dine around experience”, where you can dine in a choice of three sumptuous restaurants. The Hospiz Hotel itself offers amazing food with frequent theme nights, wine tasting and the chefs table. The legendary Hospiz Alm, with the worlds biggest big bottled wine cellar provides Michelin rated Austrian food with a stunning international twist. The third choice would be the Hotel Golderner Burg in Oberlech for a restaurant offering stunning views, delightful dishes and with access only by cable car.
