12 Jul Alpine Heatwave….Kaluma Austrian Reunion…Time is flying!
Temperatures are soaring in the Austrian side of the Alps. Thermometers showing up into the mid 30’s. Perfect then for an “old skool” Kaluma Reunion. Where else, but in the lovely lake in Zell am See, Austria. Great to meet up with our excellent Kaluma team from St Anton, for our first season in the Villa Montfort. Rach and Jo, our first two chalet hosts. Rach now plods the streets of London, keeping our good folk safe as a policewoman. Jo, who later worked in the Kaluma office for 2 years is now en route to becoming a nurse. She loves a bed bath! Tommy D, the legend that was our rep/driver/guide for two glorious seasons and now runs a bar in the quaint village of Kirchdorf, just round the corner from Kitzbuhel completed the reunion Sadly, Drew, our inglorious chef couldn’t make it, running his own hostel on the West Cost of England must be taking up too much time…either that or its a very prolonged Glastonbury festival hangover! Much fun, catching up, eating and swimming, diving and bouncing. Jo after all does enjoy a good jump……on a trampoline.
We are already almost half way through the year, mid July. 4 months time and we’ll be expecting the SNOW again! Kaluma are in the midst of a UK office move, recruiting new staff for the UK office as well as beginning the winter recruitment campaign. The season never really ends!
